Segismundo Haas
HAAS - Segismundo of Napanoch, formerly of Brooklyn, a retired furrier at Arm and Krauss, NYC, and a resident of the area for seven years, died Monday April 22, 2002 at home. He was 81. The son of the late Adolf and Franciszka Czownicka Haas, he was born March 25, 1921 in Romania. He was a pilot in the Royal Air Force during WWII and was knighted by King George. He is the widower of Helga Poehler Haas. Survivors include one son Rene Haas of Franklin Lakes, NJ, and a daughter Halina Haas of Wallkill, NY, four grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Suzane, and Alyson Haas. There will be no visitation. Funeral Services will be at the Church of St. Mary and St. Andrew, Rt 209, Ellenville on Saturday April 27, 2002 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Brunswick Rural Cemetery, Wallkill. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society, Ulster County Unit, 159 Green St., Kingston, NY, 12401.
