Servando was born on January 13, 1939. He was happily married to his wife, Neri (nee Ballester) Fernandez, for 55 years. He was the proud father of Servando Fernandez and his wife, Norma and grandfather of Ryan and his wife, Melissa, Steven, Jayson, David and Matthew. He is also survived by his sister, Angeles Fernandez, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and other family members.
Servando is remembered today and always by his many family members and friends. Those who knew him, if only for a brief time, will remember his immense kindness, unending generosity, irresistible charm and passion for animals and storytelling.
A true embodiment of the American Dream, Servando immigrated to the United States from Cuba with his wife and young son with only the clothes on their backs. Through sheer hard work and determination, Servando successfully engaged in various entrepreneurial ventures to provide a better life for his family. Servando's extraordinary legacy will live on in the minds and hearts of his family and friends for all time.
Servando's viewing is on Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 2-7 PM. at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, NJ. Funeral Service will be 9:15 AM Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Funeral Home and Mass will be held at 10 AM at Saints Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church, 218 Ackerman Ave., Clifton, N.J.
