Thomas Lis Obituary

BLOOMINGDALE — Services will be held for Thomas Anthony Lis, 75, of Herrickville, Pa., who died on Saturday, June 18, 2016. He was a former resident of this community.

Mr. Lis was born in New York City. He was an IT technician with Bradford County. Also, he had worked on the patent for the cathode ray tube while he worked in New Jersey. He was a member of the Dive Rescue Team in New Jersey and a member and past president of the Lions Club in Bloomingdale. He was a bowler in various leagues in New Jersey and in Wyalusing, Pa. He was a Little League coach in New Jersey and active in karate. And, he graduated from the Newark College of Engineering in 1966 with a degree in electrical engineering.

Arrangements are by the Sheldon Funeral Home, Wyalusing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179, Ulster, PA. 18850.

Mr. Lis is survived by his wife, the former Joan Barrett; his daughters, Dawn Jordan of Elmira, N.Y., and Stacy Jayne of Laceyville, Pa.; his son, Kyle of Wyalusing; his sister, Carolyn Weag of Matawan; his grandchildren, Brandon Jayne of Sweet Valley, Pa., Alan Ciccora of Corning, N.Y., Justin Jayne of Horseheads, N.Y., and Trenton Lis of Laceyville; and his great-grandchildren, Mason and Maura Jayne of Sweet Valley.
