Warren Stark Obituary

STARK
Warren Alfred, Westwood, died peacefully at home November 9, 2011. Mr. Stark was born August 27, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, to Peter Joseph Stark and Elizabeth (Mary) Adele Stark. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1949, as well as New York University, where he earned an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1956.
At Pratt, Mr. Stark was an honor student, was inducted into Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society and served as vice president of the local chapter.
He served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in White Sands Proving Grounds, New Mexico, from 1950 to 1952.
Mr. Stark worked in the aerospace industry for a number of companies including Reaction Motors, Thiokol Chemical, Grumman Aero Space Corporation, Allied-Signal/ Bendix Aerospace Division and General Electric Astro Space Division. He retired in 1995.
His parents and his first wife, Jean Anne Stark (mother of his two children), preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Carmela Stark; children, Lisa Stark Walsh of Austin, Texas and Peter Stark of Hoboken; son-in-law, Frank Walsh; grandchildren, Benjamin Walsh and Catherine Walsh. Surviving him also is his brother, Kenneth Stark, and wife Terri Jane Stark, of Adelphi, Maryland; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15, from 3 to 7:30 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 16, 10:30 AM, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 69 Valley Street, Hillsdale, followed by burial in George Washington Memorial Park.
