Barbara J. Bartels, 78, of Hamler, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, in Defiance, Ohio.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1947, in Napoleon, Ohio, to the late Arnold and Emelia (Haase) Bartels.
Barb was a faithful member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church of Hamler. She would often be found helping with various tasks around the church and preparing funeral luncheons.
She has spent most of her life cleaning homes, babysitting and caring for children. She thoroughly enjoyed attending garage sales and estate sales to collect various nick-knacks for her home.
She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, Daniel (Janel) Witte, Julie (Sam) Bok, Tim (Molly) Wiemken, Tom (Pam) Wiemken, Dennis Wiemken, Dean (Sharon) Wiemken; niece-in-law, Julie Wiemken; great-nieces and nephews, Mckenna, Madalyn and Marissa Witte, Andy and Wendy Bok, Tyler and Trent Wiemken, Leah Mattoon, Logan Wiemken, Josh and Rylee Wiemken, Ross Wiemken, Michala Reiser, and Rachel Coolidge, Ryan Wiemken and Austin Wiemken.
In addition to her parents, Barb is preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Witte and Jeanette Wiemken; special friend, Harold Kreinbrink; nephew, David Wiemken; and niece-in-law, Anita Wiemken.
Services for Barb will be held on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Hamler, at noon. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed towards St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
