Chester D. Greulich, 79, of Napoleon, and formerly of Holland, Ohio, peacefully passed away March 12, 2025, at Heritage Village in Waterville.
He was born in Toledo on Dec. 12, 1945, to the late Norman and Opal (Glass) Greulich.
Chester graduated from Springfield High School and was drafted into the Army. He honorably served his country as a tank operator and transportation specialist during the Vietnam War.
Chester was an avid motorcycle enthusiast as well as an AMA Motocross racer. He also enjoyed NHRA with his best friend Rick Butler. They traveled the states together where Rick raced, and Chester was his pit crew chief.
Chester was also an excellent mechanic and loved classic cars, especially Ford Mustangs. Chester was an over the road truck driver for over 40 years. He later drove dump truck for TMG in Swanton and retired in 2015.
Chester was a great father, provider, teacher and friend.
Chester is survived by his children, Danny (Annie) Greulich and Dakota Greulich; grandchildren, Kaydince Hernandez, Jaxson Dietelbach and Danika Spangler; siblings, Ronald Greulich, Darlene Butler-Beilstein, Norma (Paul) Stebing, Greg Greulich and Tom (Sherry) Greulich.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Greulich; and son, Troy Greulich.
Memorial contributions can be made out to Vehicles for Veterans or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Services will be private for the family.
