Darrel B Kesselmayer, born Oct. 21, 1955, age 70, of Holgate died peacefully Dec. 15, 2025, at the Wood County Hospital.
Darrel attended the Hobart School of Welding and was a welder for several companies in the Toledo area after graduating from Holgate High School in 1973. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Holgate.
He was an avid sports fan and followed the Holgate Tigers, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Browns, and THEE Ohio State University. He also loved traveling to attend his niece and nephews sporting events. Darrel also loved dogs and owned a number of beloved pets.
Darrel is survived by his brothers, Gary (Barbara), Toledo; Mark (Michelle) Harleysville, Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Patrick (Heidi), Matthew (Stephanie), Kim (Kevin), Adam (Allyson), Toledo, Andrew, Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and Katie (Patrick) Waynesborough, Virginia; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doie and Pat, and niece, Kirstin.
Visitation will be at the Zachrich Family Funeral Home in Holgate on Dec. 18 from 4-7 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral service, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home on Dec. 19. The service will follow in the funeral home at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Haugen III officiating. Burial will follow immediately at St. John's Lutheran cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
