Norman Carl Sonnenberg, 81, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025.
He was born in Napoleon on Sept. 22, 1943, to the late Donald and Dorothy (VonDeylen) Sonnenberg. On May 29, 1966, Norman married Marlene Behrman at St. John Lutheran Church in Deshler, Ohio.
Norm was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army Reserves and a member of the Bert G. Taylor American Legion Post #300. He enjoyed working on small engines, making homemade wine and woodworking. In his leisure time, Norm liked to bowl and go fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marlene; children, Kim (Todd) Stouffer and Tammy (Buffard) Butler; grandchildren, Devyn (Dennis) Patel, Ericka (Jacob) Prigge, Ross Butler, Kaden (Kelsey) Stouffer, and Kara Butler; great-grandchildren, Jayce and Adelyn Patel and Mack Prigge; siblings, Kenneth (Cheryl) Sonnenberg, Wilbur (Marilyn) Sonnenberg; and sister-in-law, Judy Sonnenberg.
In addition to his parents, Norm was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Sonnenberg.
Friends and family will be received at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon, with military honors accorded by Napoleon American Legion Post #300.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
