Robert C. Phillips, 88, of Liberty Center, Ohio, went home to the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on June 15, 1937, to the late James F. and Gladys (Beard) Phillips. On April 9, 1960, he married Beverly Thorn at Liberty Center United Methodist Church and spent a loving 65 years together.
Bob was a 1955 graduate of Liberty Center High School. He was also a faithful member of Liberty Center United Methodist Church and was involved in the finance committee and other areas of worship.
During Bob's younger years, he worked for McCord Corp. and was a truck driver for P.I.E. Nationwide. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds and Liberty Center Tigers. Bob and Bev would often be found putting March Madness brackets together during basketball season in their free time.
He loved his family and friends dearly, and thoroughly enjoyed lawn care, and helping others with their lawn. To keep busy, Bob and Lyle would often spend their time "Window Farming."
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; children, Gary (Melissa) Phillips and Cheryl (Troy) Gephart; daughter-in-law, Valerie Phillips; grandchildren, Andrew Phillips, Ian (Taylor) Phillips, Elliott Phillips, Hannah (Landon) Walls, and Phoebe (Jon) Baker; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Emery and Barrett Baker; brother, James "Eddie" Phillips; and sister, Louella Sabel.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his son, Bradley L. Phillips, and brother, Delmer Phillips.
Funeral Services for Bob will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at Liberty Center United Methodist Church, at 11 a.m. A time of visitation will be held for Bob at the church on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 3-7 p.m., as well as from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday. Interment will follow the service at Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed towards Liberty Center United Methodist Church.
