Alfred Oliver Cote Died - December 29, 2012 Lowell, VT - Alfred Oliver Cote passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012, He was 83 years old, and he requested no services and wants everyone to remember him as he was. He will be cremated and will be buried with his wife Thurla May Parker Cote in Lowell, VT at Mount View Cemetery. Alfred was born in Lowell, VT to Claude and Charlotte Cote. He was the second of nine children. In 1948, he married our mother Thurla-May Parker and they had eight children of there own. Dad was not an educated man; however he was a smart man and worked hard all his life. He was a farmer at heart but also worked in manufacturing and construction. Once he had the opportunity to meet and shake hands with Senator Kennedy. He loved to fish and was especially fond of phebe lures. He is survived by his eight children, Micheal Cote; Mary-Sue Sousa; Carol Brooks; Cynthia Forde; Steven Cote; Larry Cote; Janice Labrie; Karen Credit; and 21 grand children, and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Roy Cote; Robert Cote; Melinda Damrau; and numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Thurla Cote, his siblings Flora Myette, Ellen Cutting, William Cote, Juila Cote and Edward Cote. The family joins him in expressing thanks and gratitude to all that supported him through his health battles. Tonight, as my brothers and sisters and I left my father. I thought to myself that Christmastime is actually a very appropriate time for him to "steal away," as the old hymn goes, "to Jesus."
