David E. Maloney

David E. Maloney July 3, 1969 - September 14, 2011 Norwich- David E. Maloney passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2011 in Norwich. Born on July 3, 1969 in Hartford, he lived in East Hartford for his childhood. David was a proud member of a strong Irish-Catholic family. He was the youngest of five children and loved his brothers and sisters, Margaret "Maggie", Richard "Rick", Michael, and Ellen. David enjoyed his time as a youngster playing baseball, football, working at Burnhams Farms, and spending time with his many friends. David attended East Hartford High School Class of 1987, and there after graduated from Embry - Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Business Administration. He worked as a Software Engineer and it allowed him to display his talents in his ability to interact and entertain with colleagues and clients, something he enjoyed greatly. David was proud of his Irish heritage and was a founding member of the Westerly Irish Club. He loved golfing and playing on courses around the world. He was an avid skier and snowboarder, a Red Sox and Patriot fan. As a private pilot he cherished his time in the sky. He was an avid reader and loved music. David enjoyed traveling and he and his wife took pleasure in world travel. David had an enormous sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He appreciated a well poured pint of Guinness and liked to cook. His ability to tell a story was something he was known for and later led him to become involved in ministering marriage ceremonies for several close friends. David is survived by his beloved spouse Tenisha Maloney and their wonderful son Finn David Maloney, his mother whom he adored Eileen Maloney and her husband Ray Mastronunzio. His sister Margaret "Maggie" Bucaram and her son Michael Luciano of New London, his brothers Richard "Rick" Maloney and his life-partner Mary DiPietro of Bristol, Michael and Vickie Maloney, their daughters Michaela and his goddaughter Kiera Rose of Alameda, CA. His sister Ellen and Tom Griffin of Kerry, Ireland and their children Fallon, Sadie, Owen, Nell and Luke, wonderful aunts and uncles, in-laws, cousins and friends both here and in Ireland. David was predeceased by his father Richard Maloney. Visitation 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday at 11 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, West Town St., Norwich, meeting directly at the church. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
