Gerald Borders Obituary

Gerald Lee Borders December 6, 1953 - March 21, 2012 Norwich - Gerald L. Borders, 58, of Dunham St., Norwich, passed away Wednesday evening at the Orchard Grove Health Care in Montville. Gerald was born in Portsmouth, VA. December 6, 1953, a son of Gertrude O. Borders and the late Raymond L. Borders. On July 26, 2003, he married Cindy Novick, at the Rose Garden in Norwich. Prior to his retirement, July 1, 2010, he was a bridge maintainer with the State of Connecticut. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Surviving in addition to his wife Cindy, and his mother Gertrude, is a son Timothy R. Borders, a step daughter Melissa Makara and a step son Kevin Makara, two sisters Cheryl Carpenter and Marion Hamilton, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation 5-7 P.M. Monday at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. A service will be held at 7 P.M. with military honors. Burial at the convenience of the family in St Joseph Cemetery, Norwich. Donations in his memory may be made to: Hospice of S.E. CT, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT. 06360
