Norwich - Mary Kathleen "Kay" (Daley) Ring died peacefully at her home on June 1, 2021, in Norwich, at the age of 91.
She was born on October 12, 1929, to Joseph H. Daley and Elizabeth (Bowen) Daley, in Norwich.
A 1947 graduate of the Norwich Free Academy, Kay graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in Education.
She taught in the elementary schools in the Norwich Public Schools System and Sacred Heart, in Taftville.
She was joined in marriage to Kenneth J. Ring in 1952 and had four children, Kathleen T. Oberg (Charles) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kevin P. Ring Sr. (Zayne) of Scotland, Conn., Jacqueline A. Ring of Norwich, and Sheila R. Reed (Harry) of Waterford.
Kay was an avid basketball enthusiast and was a member of the city AAC league in college.
Kay was predeceased by her husband and survived by her four children, grandchildren James K. John of Pennsylvania, Kevin P. Ring Jr., Courtney Ring, Conor and Aidan Reed all of Connecticut in addition to numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Daley of Norwich, and sister Elizabeth Daley O'Leary of Barrington, IL.
Burial services are private. A celebration of life and Mass will be held at a later date and time.
