THOMAS M. DIAZ 1986 - 2018
CANTERBURY - Thomas M. Diaz, 32, beloved fiancé of Beverly Valdez passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2018. He was born September 2, 1986 in Putnam a son of Alan and Barbara (Cowsill) Diaz.
Thomas was a talented artist and skilled musician. He studied Art at The University of Connecticut, and lived out his passion while performing his music locally and on tour. Thomas was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing on many local courses. He was also passionate about bird watching with his family and friends. Growing up, Thomas was a devoted goalie for Griffin Youth Hockey. Thomas was an active person who found peace and solitude in nature and the company of his family and friends. Most of all, Thomas was a loving son, brother, fiancé, and friend who always shared appreciation and encouragement with his loved ones.
Besides his fiancé and parents, he leaves 2 brothers, Shane Diaz and his wife, Safia, and Jaime Diaz; and a sister, Kelly Embelton and her husband, Dylan; 2 nephews Jackson and Jacob, along with extended family and friends.
Visiting hours for Thomas will be at Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home in Plainfield, CT on Friday, November 9th from 4-7PM. Thomas' funeral will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 7 Providence Rd. in Brooklyn, CT on Saturday, November 10th at 10am. The interment will immediately follow at Old Trinity burial ground, after which, there will be a reception at Trinity's Parish House. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary donations to the Friends of Assisi Food Pantry, 77 Water St. A, Danielson, CT 06239. www.doughertybrosfuneralhome.com
