Thomas Schelling Obituary
NORWICH – Thomas Elwood Schelling, 76, of Great Plain Road passed away Thursday January 3, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born August 13, 1942 in Dayton, OH son to the late Elwood and Sarah (Tracey) Schelling. On November 11 1967 he was married to Rita G. (Burge) Schelling. She survives him.
Thomas honorably served his country in the US Army and US Navy. He worked for many years at Electric Boat as a Ship Supervisor. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping and gardening, but most of all he loved his family.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children Jeffrey T. Schelling and his wife Danna, Kimberly A. Ladd and her husband Fred and Rebecca L. Schelling, his eight grandchildren Jordan Buxton, Randi Canova, Cali Page, Danielle Shaw, Justin Fernandez, Tatyanna Serraro, Alexandra Ladd and Anissa Cowan and ten great grandchildren.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT, with a memorial service following at 11:00AM. Rita and family............I am so sorry to learn that Tom has died.
I just now saw Rita's facebook and realized it meant he had died.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom. Tom was a hard worker and brought many good ideas to the table when trying to accomplish a task. I also enjoyed playing golf with him. while playing Norwich golf course and looking over the fence to say hi if he was out playing the par three uphill to his backyard. Also enjoyed seeing him at Flemmings parties. My condolences to Rita and all his family.

Tommy was a childhood friend. He grew up on Delta Avenue just across the field from my family. We played together and our parents were good friends. Class of 1960 Kettering Fairmont High School.
