Yolanda was a great example of a professor who inspired her students to always do better than they thought they could. So many remembered her years after being in her class. Eastern benefitted from her work for many years. I personally admired her positive attitude, love for life and her smile as she peered into my office to say hello on the way to class. May all your good memories stay with you in this time of sorrow. We share your loss in sympathy.

We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the entire Pereira family at this sad time.

I worked with Lon quite a while ago and have kept in touch through a lot of years. Lon always made you feel special no matter who you were or what was going on in her life.

Even before one of her last rounds of chemo, the coffee was made and the pastries were out. Lon was a very special person and will be missed very much.

With Sympathy and Prayers, Joanne & Jim

Yolanda and I served on the Diocesan Liturgy Committee. She was an intelligent and innovative contributor. Her knowledge of how to make a church interior glow with beauty is her legacy to us. I will miss her, but am at peace knowing that she is now helping the angels put that special touch on the heavenly sanctuary.

To the Pereira Family,
Our experience with Lon was seeing her commitment to the families of Our Lady of Lourdes as she shared her love of the Lord with them. She had a wonderful way of understanding the demands of family life, while still expecting a commitment to spiritual growth. She was a natural teacher, and encouraged everyone to be the best they could be. Above all, it was obvious that her own deep faith was her daily motivator. We are sorry for your loss, but we hope you are comforted by knowing a lot of lives are better because of her love.
