Andrew Knepp Obituary

Andrew C. "Andy" Knepp

February 25, 1936 - November 7, 2024

Andrew C. "Andy" Knepp, 88, of North Platte, formerly of Curtis, passed away on Nov. 7, 2024, at Great Plains Health.

Andrew was born on Feb. 25, 1936, in Paradise, Kansas, the son of Claude and Lela (Mead) Knepp. From 1936 until 2006 he lived in or near the village of Curtis and graduated from Curtis High School in 1954. He was married to Evonne Orman and together they had two daughters, Corina and Katrina. He worked his entire career as the livestock manager at the Nebraska College of Agriculture in Curtis. He worked for 50 years, retired on June 30, 2006, and then worked two more years part-time for the College of Agriculture. Andy also owned and operated a hog farm and raised horses and cattle for many years. He was married again on April 15, 1989, to Coralee Miller in Curtis. He loved participating in rodeos in and around Curtis and loved going on trail rides and watching westerns. Andy was known for his wonderful sense of humor and being a great cook, especially his world-famous homemade fudge. In 2007, he and Coralee moved to North Platte where he was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and president of the Senior Center Dance Club. He was a lifelong member of the Kiwanis Club and an avid Husker fan. Andy enjoyed visits with family, especially spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lela; former wife, Evonne; wife, Coralee; brothers, Donald, James, Gene, Arnold, Lee Wayne, Jerry and Danny Knepp; sisters, Anna Osterhoudt, Patricia Mills, Sarah Seiler and Frances Daffer; and brother-in-law, Vernon Orman.

Andy is also remembered by special friends Rod Dye and Nancy McNew who he considered a special part of his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Andy Knepp Scholarship Fund to be established at the Nebraska College of Agriculture and Tech School. Online condolences may be shared at carpentermemorial.com.
