Kent Battreall Obituary

Kent Battreall

Kent Battreall, 63, of North Platte, joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 23, 2025.

Kent was born to Robert and Aloha Battreall on April 25, 1961, in David City. Kent lived in Brainard, Oxford, Maywood, Indianola, McCook and North Platte, Long Beach, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Republican Valley High School and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After college, he joined the US Navy. He was a boiler tech in the Navy and was very proud of his time serving our country. After leaving the Navy, Kent returned to Nebraska, settling in North Platte. He worked at Knapp Electric and then began his career as an electrician with the Union Pacific Railroad. Kent had recently retired from the UPRR.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his family, the outdoors, the Huskers, the Kansas City Chiefs, the US Navy and the United States. He was a dear friend to so many people and he was proud of his son, Bobby.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Battreall; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Battreall.

Survivors include his mother, Aloha Battreall; son, Bobby Battreall; brother, David Battreall of McCook; sister, Carrie (Scott) McGinnis; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service is at 11 a.m., Friday, April 4, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Daniel Ramsey officiating. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathy in Kent passing so young, he was in school about the same time as my brother and myself and so I was terribly saddened by this news. Thank you so very much for calling me back so quickly, it was great to hear about your mom, and as I said she was such good friends with my mother and my siblings and I appreciated that so much with all 5 of us living in Alaska.i will be praying for your family as you adjust to this new life without Kent, but as I said he is in a much better place and one day you will all be reunited

Bobby I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I enjoyed knowing your Dad. Many long hours on the food truck. I am working Friday and won't be able to attend the service.
