Betty Lee Breeden Taylor, 87, of Warren County, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30 at 1:30 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester.

Mrs. Taylor was born on July 21, 1929 in Petersburg, WV, daughter of the late Paul Leon Shoff and Grace Holloway Shoff.

She was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Women of the Moose.

Surviving are three sons, Ernie Breeden and his fiancee Tammy Bolden of Warren County, Kenneth Allen Breeden of Warren County, and Jerry Carlton Breeden of Front Royal; one daughter, Sharon Tharpe and husband Tommy of Browntown; one sister, Patricia Ellis and husband Donald of Virginia Beach; three grandsons; six great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by a son, Paul Leon "Buzzy" Breeden and daughter-in-law, Dara Breeden.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Hammack, Michael Wright, Tommy Tharpe Jr., Tommy Tharpe III, Joshua Roop and Donnie Roop.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, VA 22630.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, VA.

Sharon, Ernie, Kenny, Jerry and extended family, I'm so sorry to hear about Betty's passing. I know she's in a better place now. I'll always have fond memories of Aunt Betty's zest for life and laughter. Hopefully, knowing those that love you never really leave you will help you find comfort in your time of grief.
