Betty Offman Obituary
Betty Lou Lutz Offman, 91, of Woodstock, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 18th surrounded by her family. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church in Woodstock. Pastor Dale Bowers and Hank McCall will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 6:00-8:00pm at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg.
Daughter of the late Roy O. and Reba McWilliams Lutz, born on February 4, 1933, in Woodstock on the Massanutten Academy Farm which is now the Seven Bends State Park. She graduated from Woodstock High School class of 1952. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Woodstock and attended Community Mission Church of the Brethren. She was a volunteer at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, American Red Cross and Woodstock Clothes Closet.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Offman; son, Michael "Mickey" Morrissette; and brother, Howard "Hardy" Lutz. Betty is survived by her children, Cathy Bouvia (Lou) of Cleveland, South Carolina, Susan Albright of Woodstock, David Offman (Sabrina) of Strasburg; stepchildren, Debbie Dellinger (Richard) of Edinburg, Mike Offman (Lula) of Strasburg; brother, Harold Lutz (Roxy) of Woodstock; sister, Mary "Tootsie" Cramer (Keith) of Weyers Cave; grandchildren, Jenny Rodriguez, Guillin Rodriguez, David Barry, Roy Barry, April John, Crystal Breen, Michelle Dugan, Madison Albright; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Woodstock or Community Mission Church of the Brethren.
Betty loved watching sports; especially college basketball and was a huge Duke Blue Devils fan. She loved the bus trips with Parks and Recreation, enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, playing the piano, reading, playing bingo, and watching birds. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and many, many friends.

My family has known Betty Offman for almost 64 years, since we met her in San Antonio, TX, in 1960. She was my mother´s best friend and my second mother. She was the sweetest and kindest person I´ve ever known.

We knew Betty for a long time before becoming neighbors 12 years ago. She was the kindest lady. She always had a smile and was fast to give a hug! She will be missed by so many. To Betty's entire family we send our love, prayers and sincerest sympathy. We will have to find a way to send coconut pie to heaven.
