Deryl Tucker Obituary
Deryl Lewis Tucker 71, of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021, at his residence.
A funeral service for Mr. Tucker will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 22, 2021, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Garden.
Mr. Tucker was born in Woodstock, VA on August 23, 1950, the son of Lewis Oliver and Nellie Mae Ryman Tucker. He was a 1968 graduate of Central High School and a devoted member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He retired from Allegheny Power where he worked for 38 years as a lineman. Deryl was a member of the Strasburg Moose Lodge 403 and served on the Board of Directors for the Upper Shenandoah Valley USBC Bowling Association for many years. He bowled in National League Bowling for over 34 years, loved bowling, golfing, hunting, and working on the Gerald Kidwell farm. Deryl served as an umpire for the Strasburg Little League and coached many teams in the valley. He was a devoted family man known for his outgoing personality and integrity. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Dellinger Tucker of Strasburg, VA; his children Brian Randall Tucker (Sharon) of New Market, VA, and Scott Christopher Tucker (Andrea) of Strasburg, VA; his grandchildren Rhiannon Tucker, Courtney Tucker, Rebecca Richman, Jackson Carter, Emily Tucker, Brent Richman, Nicholas Tucker, Abby Nixon, Matthew Tucker, and Kaleb McKelvey; his great grandchildren Madalyn Strauss, Alivia Meadows, Lyric Rowe, Mariella Meadows, Ryan Strauss, Vivienne Strauss and Ava Nixon; his siblings Karen Gochenour (Ronald) of Woodstock, VA and Sarah Dalton (Gary) of Woodstock, VA.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Stephen Nixon, Rhiannon Tucker, Brent Richman, and Jeremy Pangle.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Memorial may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 1589 Hockman Road, Strasburg, VA 22657.
