Gary Devers Obituary
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
Mr. Devers was born on December 1, 1948 in Alexandria, son of the late Albert Devers and Iola Javins Shirley.
He worked for 10 years for Jack Evans Chevrolet as a Virginia State Inspector.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Ellen M. Devers; two step-sons, William "Bill" Franklin and Jerry Shipe, both of Front Royal; three sisters, Loretta Mitchell and husband Hop of Stephens City, Brenda Wiscouski and husband Frank of Arlington, and Linda Compton of Front Royal; two brothers, Harold Devers and David Devers both of Front Royal; seven grandchildren, Tyler Shipe, D.J. Ott, Carson Reed, Chelsea Franklin, Matthew Franklin, Michael Franklin, and Zachary Reed; and a very special cousin, Carolyn Kemp.
Pallbearers will be Art Mitchell, David Devers, Tony Lamb, Billy Brown, Danny Devers, and John Wiscouski.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear of Gary's passing. No words can take the pain away for the family but now "Albert" is without pain and is healthy and with the Lord~ I worked with him at Jack Evan's and what a character he was! Gone but not forgotten...RIP "Albert"

It was quite a shock to get the Daily on line and see of my friend's passing. I have known Gary for many years. Will be praying for your peace and comfort during these times of grieving. By living 1,400 miles away will make it impossible to be there for the services; however prayer will be there. God bless family and friends.
