Gwendolyn V. Miller

Gwendolyn Victoria Barb Miller, 95, of Basye, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Shenandoah Terrace Memory Care in New Market, VA. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Pastor Dean Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Miller-Hansberger Cemetery in Basye. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Miller was born January 24, 1930, in Bird Haven, Virginia, daughter of the late Theodore Canon Barb and Elsie Gertrude Barb. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Women's Sewing Circle of Jerome, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Christian Miller Sr.; great grandson, Jeffrey Causey; and brothers and sister, Joyce Miller and Donald, Carson, Edgar and David Barb.

She had seven children, Judy Dove and her husband Beverly both deceased and her significant other, Kenny Price of Stanley, Patricia Miller of Basye, Diane Dellinger and husband, Steven (deceased) of Conicville, Norman C. Miller Jr. of Basye, John Wayne Miller and wife, Sherrie of Basye, Wanda Fay Layman and husband, Donald of Mathias, WV and Brian O'Neal Miller of Edinburg; brothers, Benjamin Barb and his wife, Edith (deceased) of New Market, Doland Barb and wife, Mildred of Marshall and Sandy Joe Barb and wife, Diane of Wisconsin; half-brother, Terry Lee Barb of Michigan; 15 grandchildren, Victoria McMillan, James Dellinger, Amanda Miller, William Miller Jr., Derek Miller, Bradley Dove (decreased), Yvonne Buracker, Jeremy Barb, Jason Barb, Joshua Barb, Carrie Heishman, Katie Miller, Dominic Miller, Mindy Richards and Charlotte Price and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons William Miller Jr., Derek Miller, Ethan Miller, Josh Barb, Jason Barb and Jeremy Barb.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Heishman, James Dellinger, Chayton McMillan, Dominic Miller, Justin Barb, Lane Barb, Kole Barb, Kade Barb, Aiden Causey, Carter Heishman, Chase Tusing, Brayden Miller, Chris Barb, Bailey Keplinger, Aubrey Dellinger, Alison Miller, and Penny Shirkey.
