Irene D. Stroop, 85, of Stephenson, VA passed away October 14, 2021 at Rose Hill Health in Rehab in Berryville. She was born January 22, 1936 in Clarksburg, WV the daughter of the late Harold and Marie Opal (Lyons) Davis. Irene was a member of Calvary Church of the Brethren in Winchester and worked as a private nurse's aide. She also enjoyed flower gardening and cheering for the Nationals and Redskins.

Irene married Bobby Lee Stroop on November 22, 1978 in Winchester and he preceded her in death in 1995.

In addition to her husband and parents, Irene was also preceded in death by her son Raymond Edward Bennett Jr.; her granddaughter Shannon Davis; and her siblings Betty Coen, Maxine Waldeck, Ralph Davis, Steve Davis and Cecil Davis.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley J. Davis (Wayne); grandchildren Kim Tobey (Robert), Bryan Bennett (Sherry), Charity Michaels and Josh Bennett; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; her daughter in law Beverly Bennett; and also survived by her nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Memorial contributions in memory of Irene may be sent to The American Cancer Society, 124 Park St. SE, Vienna, VA 22180.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service on Wednesday October 20 at 1:00pm at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2833 Green Spring Rd., Winchester with Pastor Jonathan Martino officiating.
