Isabelle Helsley Obituary
Mrs. Helsley was born August 8, 1927 in Shenandoah County, the daughter of the late Frank and Ruby (Clinedinst) Hosaflook.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Ira Helsley; two brothers, Alfred and Billy; and two sisters, Betty Marston and Flo McDaniels.
Mrs. Helsley is survived by two sons, Teddy (Janeas) and Dewey (Gracie), and one daughter, Gloria Spitler (Stanley), all of Woodstock; two brothers, Calvin and Ralph, and one sister, Peggy Mantz, all of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Danny Spitler, Keith Helsley and Julie Helsley; three great grandchildren, Caitlan Spitler, Chase Helsley and Kaitlynn Bradley; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jordan and Blake Dutton.
She was a longtime member of Community Mission Church of the Brethren and was a member of their Ladies Aid and VFW Auxiliary in Edinburg.
Mrs Helsley sold Avon for 14 years in Falls Church and was a janitor for the Woodstock Health Department and sold refreshments at Janey's Auction house in Woodstock.
She was well known for her baking and always having goodies for anyone who came to visit. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and love for family and for the Lord. She lead a hard life and enjoyed the Sunday dinner with her family.
A funeral service will be held at Community Mission Church, Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Columbia Furnace Cemetery in Edinburg.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Community Mission Church of the Brethren, Building Fund, 50 Coffmantown Road, Woodstock, VA 22664 or Greenfield Assisted Living of Woodstock, 935 Ox Road, Woodstock, VA 22664.
Arrangements are in the care of Valley Funeral & Cremation Service.

JUST WANTED TO LET ALL OF YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I AM THINKING OF YOU NOW AND ALWAYS. LET ALL THE PRECIOUS MEMORIES ISABELLE GAVE TO ALL OF US HELP YOU THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
I AM BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HER IN MY LIFE AND SO THANKFUL TO HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ACCEPTED AS PART OF YOUR FAMILY. THAT HAS MEANT SO MUCH TO ME AND I WILL MISS HER SO VERY MUCH AND HOW SHE CARED SO MUCH FOR HER FAMILY AND OTHERS.

Gloria, Teddy and families. I remember your mother as a beautiful woman. Always smiling no matter what.I remember her dressing like she was going to church to work in the garden. I respected her for that. Never a hair out of place.Beautiful & serene for her now. Love you and God Bless.

It has been a privilege for God to bring me into Isabelle's life.I will always remember her soft smile and the words of devotion she wrote in cards she sent me when I was caring for our sister Flo.She was someone to be admired because she worked so hard and never imposed on anyone, even when a hug or kiss would have helped her on bad days.Isabelle, you take a part of my heart with you.I'll see you in heaven sugar.
