Joyce Harger Obituary
Joyce Marie Montgomery Harger, 70, of Staunton, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at UVA Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 1:00pm, at Strasburg Assembly of God Church. Pastor Dottie Johnson Holden will officiate. Burial will follow at Hudson Crossroads Cemetery.
Ms. Harger was born June 24, 1955, in Virginia, daughter of the late John W. Montgomery and Ellen Helsley Cook. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Harger; companion, Roger Shiplett; and her sister, Sue Van Sumeron.
She is is survived by her daughter, Ericka Staton and fiancé, James Glover of Staunton, VA; son, Daniel Spencer of Hopewell, VA; granddaughter, Tayla Harger; sister, Pam Vasiliou; nephews, Stephon Spencer, Noah Spencer; and niece, Elizabeth Grogg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Joyce's Funeral Expenses, c/o Heishman Funeral Service,159 North Main Street, Woodstock, VA 22664.
