June Elizabeth Foltz Thompson

June Elizabeth Foltz Thompson passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, VA. The funeral service will be held on Sunday November 16, 2025, at 2:00pm at Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Deb Horst will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 6-8 pm.

Ms. Thompson was born July 19, 1945, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, daughter of the late Lory (Andy) Foltz and Dena Wilkins Foltz Mumaw. She was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, class of 1963. She was a member of Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren for 50 plus years where she served in many capacities. After her retirement, from Shenandoah Telephone Company, she volunteered for a number of local charities. She loved to cook and share her goodies with her family and friends. Her greatest attribute was her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She considered her family to be her greatest blessing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Thompson; son, Tracy Thompson; daughter, Glenda Sherman; and her stepfather, Alston Mumaw.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Nicole Cline and husband, Zach; Son in law, Eddie Sherman; two great granddaughters, Riley and Rynley Cline; and her sister, Josie Foltz.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge, P.O. Box 718 Mt. Jackson, VA 22842 in memory of Tracy Thompson.
