Michael Sebastian âMikeã Derda, 22, of Front Royal, Virginia, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, in Stephens City, Virginia.

Mike was born in 1989, in Manassas, Virginia, the son of James Derda, of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Mary Barbara Bell of Front Royal, Virginia. He was a fork lift operator at the Home Depot Distribution Center in Front Royal, Virginia. Mike was a volunteer with the Shawnee Fire and Rescue in Winchester. He was a graduate of Sherando High School, Class of 2008.

Surviving with his mother and father is his step father, Alan Bell of Front Royal, Virginia; grandparents, Mike and Leslie Edenton of Nokesville, Virginia; sisters, Sarah Derda of East Liverpool, Ohio and Jennifer Bell of Front Royal, Virginia; aunts and uncles, Michelle and Steve Gober, their children Gabrielle, Hannah and Charlotte, all of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania; Jane and Jim Zimmerman and daughter, Lisa, of East Liverpool, Ohio; John and Sue Derda and son, Eric, of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Francesca Keffer, of Strasburg, Virginia.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Chaplain Mark Ransom officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ray Hess, Jared Priddy, Steph Timbrook, Terry Orndorff, Ben Bullock and Joel Kerns. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shawnee Fire and Rescue personnel.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 5:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Fire and Rescue 2210 Valor Drive, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
