Roger Dellinger Obituary

Roger Lee Dellinger, 66, of Timberville, died on November 26, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on August 17, 1945 in Shenandoah County and was the son of the late James W. Dellinger and Janetta Anderson Dellinger.

He was a carpenter for Dellinger and Dellinger Construction and was a member of Stoney Creek Brethren Church in Basye.

On August 18, 1965 he married the former Alice V. Orebaugh of Timberville, who survives.

He is survived by a son, Bruce Lynn Dellinger of Timberville, two brothers; William Frank Dellinger and Dale Gene Dellinger, both of Basye, an aunt whom he lived with growing up; Judy Mongold, several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, three brother-in-laws, and a sister-in-law.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Shirley Phillips, and a brother; Billy W. Dellinger.

Pastor Jerry Ruff will conduct a memorial service on Wednesday the 30th at 11 AM at Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren in Timberville. The family will receive friends and family members at the church immediately following the memorial service.

His body was cremated. The family will conduct a private ceremony later.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dellinger family, 7392 Wine Store Road, Timberville, VA 22853 to cover medical costs, or Virginia Wheelin Sportsmen, 17 Lake Haven Ln., Ruckersville, VA 22968, or the American Cancer Society, 1920 H. Medical Dr., VA 22801.

I want to send condolences to Roger's Family. He and I grew up together, hunted, and fished, and cruised when we could. Although we did not see much of each other after the early 1960's, he remained a great friend and will be missed. May the good lord bless you, Roger.
