Cleopatra Owens Obituary

OWENS, Cleopatra Joan (Joni) - died 14 June 2020.
Born in Fort Walton Beach, FL on 29 April 1949, Joni is preceded in death by her parents John
and Sarah Gould and siblings Phillip and Martha Gail. She is survived by her husband and the
love of her life, Bill Owens of Tucson, sons Sean Holland of Virginia Beach, Jason Holland of
Tucson, and daughters Leslie Nagy of Tuscaloosa and Jennifer Hickman of Atlanta and four
grandchildren, along with three siblings, John William O'Neal, North Carolina, Elizabeth (Suzy)
Kafferly of Fort Walton Beach, and David T. Gould of Shalimar, two dogs, and many friends.
She always was thought of as the favorite aunt. She was a happy fun-loving person who was
loved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and her loving
husband Bill. Joni and Bill traveled extensively, and she was always ready to go. Joni had
several health complications in the past nine months, and she was unable to fight them anymore.
She did not want a formal memorial service but rather a celebration of life party. Notifications
will be by e-mail and social media.

I met Joni with Suzi in Perry during our freshman year. She was always fun, but she was a sister that Suzi looked up to and appreciated. She will be missed.
