You never think you could love anyone more than your own children, until that first grandchild comes along and your heart grows so big that your chest can not contain it. This is what Katie is for me, that love that is so big it shines out of everything that I am. I will miss you every day until I see you again. I have thousands of more kisses for you sweet little face. You are the best of all of us. Sweet Dreams my little Katie Bug. Love you forever, Nana

To Katie's family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Katie. I send my empathy and understanding, as I have also lost a child. Even though we have never met, I just wanted you to know that you are not alone in this devastating journey. In the days, weeks, or months ahead, if you ever need someone to listen, please remember I am here. Bereaved parents are family.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
