Marie Jane Carlson, age 37 of Fort Walton Beach, was taken so tragically from this earth in October 2011. Born in the Philippines in October 1974, Marie loved to sing Karaoke, had a passion for fitness, making everyone feel beautiful, cooking singing and curry, crafting jewelry, and studying the bible. Marie had a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and loved working in that field. But most of all Marie loved her girls. She is survived by her mother, Florencia Bridges of Fort Walton Beach, FL; brothers, Randy Bridges of Mossy Head, FL , Ralph Bridges and Alex Bridges both of Houston, TX.; sisters, Pacita Merriman of Crestview, FL., Esta Bridges and Rose Bridges both of Fort Walton Beach, FL.; daughters, Paris Carlson of Bowling Green, KY and Grace Flanders of Cochise, AZ. Marie is also survived by her biological mother Nina Akesson of Sweden and her Ex-Husband Jeff Carlson of Kentucky, and beloved friends Alice and Dennis Barber. A Memorial Service to honor the Life of Marie will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home at 4 p.m. and the family will receive friends prior to the service at 3 p.m. until service time. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Marie Carlson Memorial Fund at Eglin Federal Credit Union. Marie was a mother, daughter, sister, Aunt, and friend to many and has been and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
