I'm sad to hear of the Admiral's passing. I met him and Harrison while studying at Oxford University in 1990. Admiral Ashler was a great man. He kept in touch over the years and I am privileged to have known him. My sympathies to the Ashler family.

Thoughts and prayers to the family,
I met the Admiral while working at the Governors Club. It was always a joy to see him come through the doors. He is greatly missed by the staff. He always greeted me with a hug. I am grateful to have known him the little that I did. Sincerely,

Bill and I have been neighbors of Admiral Ashler and his wife Elise at the Cataloochee Ranch in North Carolina. There, we discovered that we had many colleagues and friends from the past in common. Ours was a brief friendship, but one which engendered much interest and respect. We offer our sincere symapthy to the Ashler family. Bill and Jill Strode

I remember Admiral Ashler from the days when he was Secretary of Commerce. I recently got reaquainted with him when he was a neighbor of my mother-in-law at Westminster Oaks.

Dear Elise and Family,
Mom (Charlotte) just told me about The Admiral and I just wanted you to know that I think about both of you often. God will be with you in your time of need and time will heal. God bless you all and He will be with you now and always. I hope to visit mom and see you up on the mountain this summer.
Love and deepest sympathy, Barbara
