Al worked for over 40 years as a certified mechanic at Rouse's Auto Repair in Libertyville. He was a jack-of-all trades who could not only repair autos and golf carts but also reupholster motorhome interiors and build just about anything. Al traveled extensively with his family and enjoyed owning a variety of campers, trailers, and motorhomes. In his free time, Al enjoyed tinkering and building things, fishing on the Chain, boating, and smoking a good cigar. He also served as a past Boy Scout leader for his sons' Johnsburg troop. Most of all, Al had a great love for his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne (nee Rak) Zaremba; children, Daniel (Jodi nee Beutel) Zaremba, Anthony (Nina nee Zangara), and Veronica (Scott) Moore; grandchildren, Troy, William, Drew, and Isabella Zaremba, Julianna (Minh) Nguyen, Gina (Joe) Acino, and Mackenzie and Skylar Moore; great-grandsons, Joseph and Luca Acino; sister, Alyce Gilbertsen; sister-in-law, Linda Zaremba; and many nieces, neighbors, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by grandson, Jimmy Blasucci; sister, Diane Zaremba; and brother, Thomas Zaremba.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg. Private interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Evergreen Park.

Started working with Al in 1970 just out of High School and I appreciate everything he did to help me out when I was just starting out as a mechanic. Sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the family. I worked with Al in the late 1970's at Rouse's Standard in Libertyville. He taught me a lot and was always good to me.
