Charles E. Carroll, age 80, of Woodstock, IL passed away at his home on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
Charles was born May 27, 1942, in La Follette, TN to Walter and Myrtle (Benge) Carroll. He married Betty Rose Shallenbarger on July 23, 1966 and spent many years with her, until her death on April 23, 2010.
Charles enjoyed playing golf, shooting pool, and watching Hallmark movies, he shared a special bond and much of his time with his grandson Andrew.
He is survived by his children Raymond (Victoria) Carroll, Brian (Carri) Carroll, Kevin (Cindy) Carroll, Edward (Andrea) Carroll, Kimberly Carroll, brother Kenneth (Utah) Carroll, grandchildren Rebecca, Bethany, Mark, Charlie, Brenton, Christopher, James, Nicole, Deanna, David, Alli, Bailey, Brandon, Gunnar, Keegan, Andrew, Jakob, Zac, Britney, and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Walter and Myrtle Carroll, wife Betty Rose Carroll, five brothers, and great-grandson Charles Reeves.
Visitation will be held Thurs. August 11, 2022 from 5 – 9 PM at Saunders Funeral Home & Crematory, 1745 S. Eastwood Dr., Woodstock, IL 60098. Services will be held 11 AM Fri. August 12, 2022 at the funeral home.

Popa was a GREAT man whom I loved very much. My children and I truly cherished every moment we were able to have with him. We definitely are grateful for the opportunity to have had him in our lives and for the love that he unselfishly gave us. This wonderful man blessed us with many laughs, kindness, unconditional love, and a true sense of what a man does for the people that he loves. Thank you Popa for everything you have done. Rest with the angels, watch over your family and help them through their great loss.
