Edward Klein Obituary

Edward H. Klein, Sr.
Born: April 18, 1945
Died: November 15, 2025
Edward H. Klein, Sr., age 80, originally from Ingleside, IL, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on November 15, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1945, in Evanston, IL, to Ralph and Eleanor Klein.
On July 27, 1963, Ed married his high school love, Suzanne Davis. Ed and Sue shared a truly unbreakable love. They were married for 62 years and showed their family what true love really means. Together, they started their family in Ingleside, Illinois, and later moved to La Palma, California, in 1970, where they welcomed their third child. In 1981, Ed and his family returned to Illinois, making Johnsburg their home.
Ed was a devoted family man who found immense joy in watching his grandchildren play multiple sports. He and Sue spent countless weekends driving from soccer games to football games, basketball games, wrestling meets, and even a few dance recitals to watch their grandchildren. He especially cherished fishing and hunting trips with his son, son-in-law, and grandsons, creating lasting memories. One of his fondest memories was a fishing trip to Florida with his brothers, his grandson, his best friend, his nephew, and his son. Spending time with family was at the heart of everything he did.
One of Ed's greatest joys this past year was welcoming his two great-grandsons into the world. Their arrival filled his heart with immeasurable happiness and brought a renewed light during a time when he needed it most. Every smile, laugh, and milestone reminded him of the enduring beauty of his family and the legacy of love he and Sue had built.
Those who knew Ed will remember his lighthearted motto of living "fat, dumb, and happy," reflecting his easygoing nature and his ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Klein; his sister, Donna Cureton; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Margaret Klein; his sister-in-law, Melody Klein; and his sister-in-law, Cheryl Blowers. His children: Eddie (Kelly) Klein and Julie (Shawn) Calhoun. His grandchildren: Atty Klein and Maggie (Ty) Kelly, Andrew (Avery), Mathew (Megan), and Jacob Calhoun. His great-grandsons: Crew and Cooper Calhoun. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He is now undoubtedly surrounded by friends and family who passed before him, including his daughter, Lisa Klein, and his brothers Ralph and Bill Klein.
His presence was a gift to us all, and his memory will forever be a guiding light in our lives.
His celebration of life will be held on a later date.

Ed was one of the nicest people I ever worked for. You'd see him and have to smile, cause he was smiling at you first! Heaven is surely a better place for having you in it.
