Died: April 28, 2025
Edwin "Ed" Larson of Carpentersville passed away on April 28th, 2025 after a valiant battle with MRSA. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
Ed was born February 4th, 1942, in Adams County, Wisconsin, to the late Robert and Genevieve (Cavanaugh) Larson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and served for 3 years. In his working years, he was employed by Admiral, Union Special, and retired from Northrop Grumman after 23 years of dedicated service.
He passed away peacefully and was visited by many family members and friends, along with his two beloved fur babies, in his final days.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Daryl (Herrmann); his children, son Shawn (Dawn) Larson, and daughter Jody (Elvin Miller) Larson; six beautiful granddaughters, Kayla, Alexis, Rae Ann, Jaleesa, Lindsay, and Leia; 10 adored great-grandchildren; many cousins, friends and fur babies, Joey and Penny.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; sister Lorraine; and brother in-law, Laverne Clussman.
The family would like to thank the Carpentersville Fire Department, and all the staff at Advocate Sherman Hospital (ER, CCU, and 2nd floor, 6th floor, 5th floor). Ed received excellent and compassionate care in his final days.

So sorry for your loss. I remember Eddie from my time at Northrop. Super nice guy and always a smile on his face. I remember his Grand National. I ran into Eddie at Fredrick funeral home 15 or so years ago. Still a smile and very nice.
