Ernest Raymond Celli, 57, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 16, 2017.
He was born on October 1, 1959 to Emil and Billie Celli in Chicago, IL. Ernie attended and graduated from Lake Zurich High School where he was very active in baseball, football, wrestling, and outdoor club. His Junior and Senior year he was awarded Most Valuable Player for wrestling. Ernie went on to graduate from Eureka College where he played four years of football.
Beyond his academic and athletic accomplishments, Ernie was a beloved father, husband, son, brother, coach and mentor to many. When he wasn't spending time with his friends and family he could always be found in his yard or garden where he took much pride. He will be greatly missed by family and friends, many of whom he cherished his whole life.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cheryl Celli; son, Brian Celli; daughter, Lauren Celli; brother, Bobby Celli; father, Emil Celli.
Please join us in remembering Ernie on April 29, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 236 W. Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake, IL. Visiting hours will be from 1:00 to 3:00pm followed by a memorial service from 3:00 to 4:00pm.

Celli's, you all have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband and father. I knew Ernie for about 5 years (Hausner Hard Chrome) and he was one of the nicest, most selfless men I have known. He would always put others before himself...always. I have never met a more proud father than Ernie...Nor have I ever met a husband who loved his wife more than Ernie did. He spoke of Brian and Lauren, often. He was very proud of you both. Ernie was a deer friend and he will be greatly missed. In love and prayers...

You couldn't have asked for a better brother-in-law. He cherished and adored my sister, Cheryl Celli. He was a great friend and the life of the party. He always thought of others before himself. He will be severely missed. I know he is now in heaven because he was an angel to my sister and their children. I know he is watching over Cheryl, Lauren, and Brian from heaven.
