Florence Barango, age 97, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully at Valley Hi Nursing Home with her loving family by her side on November 20, 2023. She was born on December 23, 1925 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Marie Cicero.
Florence met Vince through correspondence while he was overseas during WWII. When he returned to the United States, they met officially and soon became engaged to be married. They lived in Chicago and had three kids, Jim, Linda, and Madeline. They later moved to Crystal Lake.
Flo loved to dance, as a young girl she loved to tap dance. When she and Vince lived in Chicago, they often danced at the Aragon Ballroom. They danced to their favorite 40's tunes and WWII tunes.
In addition to dancing, Flo loved music and her family. She was always full of laughter and love. Flo's face would light up at the sight of all the babies around her, especially her own babies, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Florence was a master at making Italian Spaghetti sauce and many other Italian specialties. She was a very loving and caring person. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Florence is survived by her daughters, Linda (Jack) Heisler, and Madeline Winsor; grandchildren, Timothy (Lindsay) Heisler, and Brian Heisler and Kelly (Greg Dennis) Miller; great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Barango, her son, James "Jim" Barango and by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 10:30 AM until the time of her Memorial Service at 11:30 AM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
