Gene L Unruh, 87 of Algonquin, passed away on October 6, 2021. He was born November 13, 1933 in Algonquin to Charles and Anna (Radke) Unruh. He was a lifelong resident of Algonquin, lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Algonquin, and a lifelong Cubs fan. He worked for the Postal service as a delivery man.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Steven (Julie), and Scott (Denise), grandchildren Joseph, Edward, Bridget, Joshua (Michele), Lindsey (Daniel), Jelissa (Joshua), and Jacob (Emily), great grandchildren Ashton, Nevaeh, Ariah, and Lucille, a niece Karen, and a nephew Orrin (Donna).
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Agnes and her husband Jake Frisbee.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday October 14, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 300 Jefferson St., Algonquin, IL 60102. Burial will follow at River Valley Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Algonquin.
