James R. Maxwell Sr. Obituary

LAKE IN THE HILLS – James R. Maxwell Sr., 81, of Lake in the Hills, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
He was born Sept. 22, 1929, in Chicago, to Larkin and Violet Maxwell. On Sept. 26, 1953, he married Dolores Alice Lakowski.
He loved bowling and playing cards with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed life in general. He also enjoyed working for W. Smith Cartage Trucking for many years.
Survivors include his two children, Shawn (fiancée Cheryl Hinton) Maxwell and Tammy Santilli; a daughter-in-law, Mary Maxwell; eight grandchildren, Kim, Julie, Karen, James, Robert, Tanya, Melissa and Mark; his great-grandchildren, Lukas, James "JJ," Emily, Hannah, Jacob, Taylor, Chevelle, Carrie Ann, Dominic, Gianna, Abigail, Caleb and Corabelle; and his brothers, Donald (Marie) Maxwell and Ronald (Mary Jane) Maxwell.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his son, James R. Maxwell Jr.; and his brothers, Bobby and Larkin Maxwell.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass is celebrated Friday, Nov. 5, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, donor services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
