Janice lived most of her life in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where she built both her career and her family. She worked faithfully for many years at Country Gas, where her dedication and strong work ethic led her to become Office Manager before her retirement.
Janice embraced retirement with the same devotion she showed throughout her life-pouring her love into her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoying vacations filled with laughter and togetherness. Nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with those she loved.
The cornerstone of Janice's life was her deep faith. Her love for God and her church community shaped who she was and guided the way she lived. Her faith was evident in her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.
She is survived by her three children: Gregory Smith; Renee Smith (Jim Matthei); and Rachel Domaleczny. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Mike (Alison) Bond, Matt (Griselda) Bond, Erica Domaleczny (Ben Kania), and Brooke (Matt) Reibly, and a cherished great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and faith will live on through each of them.
A memorial service is being held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at The Pointe, 5650 Northwest Highway, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 with a luncheon to follow.
