Joseph ("Joe") Keyser of Phoenix, AZ, died peacefully on November 9, 2021, surrounded by the family he loved.
He was born in Evanston, IL on April 18, 1949.
A loving husband and devoted father, he is survived by his beloved wife, Martie, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 28, and his daughters Christine Keyser of Phoenix and Michelle Weber (Wayne) of Scottsdale whom he adored.
Originally from Chicago, IL, Joe was the proud owner of "Keyser Inc.," a highly-regarded garage door business which diligently serviced residential, commercial and industrial clients for over 35 years. His exceptional skills, tireless commitment and unparalleled professionalism earned him annual recognition and he was warmly regarded as the "Doctor of Doorology" to many in his industry and community. Additionally, Joe was sought out as an artistic and highly talented wood worker. As such, he was frequently commissioned to build beautiful wooden staircases, bars, and more by those who admired his artistry and skills.
Beyond the tremendous pride he took in his work and in providing for his family, he was honored to serve as a volunteer for the American Legion Post 1231 in Lake in the Hills, IL where he was a member for over 30 years. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served his country as a member of the Military Police and was awarded six different medals for his distinguished service.
An avid fisherman and hunter (with both rifle and bow and arrow), Joe enjoyed his retirement in Phoenix these past 11 years. In addition to his wife and daughters, among his greatest joys were his dogs, Sally and Sabine, who adored him and the time they spent together.
A private service will be held at a later date.
