Lorraine Forciea Obituary

Lorraine Forciea
Born: November 20, 1927 in Chicago, IL
Died: October 18, 2025 in Barrington, IL
On October 18, 2025, God reached down from the firmament and brought back the soul of his servant, Lorraine Kaminski Forciea. Lorraine was born in Chicago on November 20, 1927, to Ettore and Edith (Caselli) Colicchio. On September 10, 1949, she married Ben Kaminski and spent most of her married life in a home built by family in Round Lake, Illinois. Lorraine graduated from cosmetology classes and added to family income by taking clients in her home. Ben and Lorraine were blessed with four children, Karen, Valerie, Kevin and Dan. She was a caring and devoted mother until the day she died. As her children entered school, Lorraine accepted a clerical position at Round Lake High School where she became a friend to administrators, faculty and maintenance staff alike. When she retired after decades of service, the staff held a week-long "Celebration of Lorraine" that was an outpouring of love for all she brought to the students and staff. In November of 1995, Lorraine lost her husband Ben after his long battle with health issues. Lorraine mourned his passing but continued an active lifestyle and loved to travel when she could. On a trip to her brother's home in Florida she was introduced to a group of his buddies where she caught the eye of George Forciea. They filled gaps in each other's lives and married in January of 1999. George and Lorraine set up residence in Pinellas Park, Florida where they made lifelong friends and joined each other's families. As "snowbirds" they enjoyed summers in Crystal Lake and winters in Largo, Florida. The union was deeply successful, but in October of 2009, George likewise passed. After George's death, Lorraine filled her days by volunteering. Among the beneficiaries were The Marine Corps League (Woodstock), Living History Farm (FL), Centegra Health System's Pink Door Thrift and Gift shops, the Raue Theater in Crystal Lake, and the Sparrow's Nest in Cary. Her passions in life were faith and family, bingo, casino outings, sewing, cooking and spending time with friends. Lorraine is survived by her four children, Karen Liegl, Valerie (Paul) Rogers, Kevin (Dana) Kaminski, and Daniel Kaminski, as well as George's children Sue (Andy) Shoneck of Seminole, FL and Bruce (Chen) Forciea of West Allis, WI. Surviving grandchildren are: Sarah Liegl Hovden, Patrick Liegl, Nick Kaminski, Chris Kaminski, Jennifer Kaminski Castillo, Tara Kaminski DeLaune and Kaycee Kaminski Garcia, and Grace Forciea. Also surviving are great grandchildren, a large loving family and a host of friends. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 31 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Justen Funeral Home in McHenry, IL. Visitation will continue Saturday morning at 10 with a prayer service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sparrows Nest, Cary IL or Marine Corp League, Woodstock, IL

My heart is broken. I always looked forward to getting one of her hugs and seeing her great smile. She was such a joy to be with at our senior events. Heaven got an angel.
