Margaret Louise Thompson, a beloved and thoughtful soul, joined her Heavenly Father on November 8, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 29, 1948, Margaret was a resident of Marengo, Illinois. Margaret loved her family dearly, but especially her grandchildren. She would look forward to visits and talk about them for weeks afterward. They meant the world to her. She was devoted to her church, the First Assembly of God Marengo, where she participated in women's groups and loved her community there. Margaret will be deeply missed by her children, Elmer Thompson, Gregory (Jodi Buol) Thompson, and Kelley (Daniel) Kramer; her grandchildren, Heather Thompson, Colton Thompson, Danielle Kramer, Jacob (Heidi) Kramer, and Kalvin Kramer; her great-granddaughter Lilah; and many beloved family members and friends. She goes to join in the Lord her husband, Louis E. Thompson; her parents, Elmer and Margaret Preiss; and brother, William Preiss. A visitation will be held on November 14, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Marengo First Assembly of God, located at 22817 W Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60152. The funeral service will follow on the same day at the same venue, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The committal service will take place at McHenry County Memorial Park, 11301 Lake Ave, Woodstock, IL 60098, at 2:00 pm.
