Philip L. Ellison Jr Born: Feb. 4, 1967; in Woodstock Died: April 17, 2014; Lake Geneva Philip L. Ellison Jr., age 47, of Lake Geneva, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 17, 2014, after suffering a brief illness. He was born in Woodstock on February 4, 1967, to Philip L. and Judith A. (Lundgren) Ellison Sr. Philip graduated from Alden-Hebron High School in 1985 and went on to study at the University of Wisconsin in Platteville. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hebron. He worked for EMS Industrial & Service Company in Richmond. Philip was an award winning writer and he also loved reading. He was proud to have the opportunity to meet President Clinton and Charlton Heston through his literary works. He also enjoyed anything pertaining to the weather, especially when it came to storm chasing and tornado spotting. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badgers fan. But, most of all, he enjoyed being a father and spending time with his son. He is survived by his son, Kyle Ellison; his parents, Philip L. and Judith A. (Lundgren) Ellison Sr.; his brother, Timothy (Debra) Ellison of Caledonia; his niece, Ashley; his nephew, Michael; his aunts and uncles, Alice Meyer of Woodstock, Susan Lundgren of Woodstock, Janet (Joe) Schmidt of Florida, Walfred Lundgren of Harvard, Stewart (Nancy) Ellison of Woodstock, and Charles (Cheryl) Ellison of Crystal Lake; and special friends Sharon, Ryan and Kaitlyn Jolly of Lake Geneva. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and two uncles, Jim Lundgren and John Lundgren. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014, from 4:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 pm at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave, in Woodstock. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kyle Ellison Education Fund.
