Died: January 3, 2018; in Woodstock, IL
Phyllis Ann Matthesius, age 79, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Phyllis was born July 22, 1938, to the late Howard and Berenice (nee Lerps) Anderson. Phyllis enjoyed reading and had a great love for horseback riding and German Shepherd dogs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children, Linda Lee Colello, Louise A. (Mark) Berger Frett, Nancy A. Matthesius, John F. Matthesius, Annette M. (Jim) Potocek, and Jennifer L. (Scott) Sanderson; dear grandchildren, Joseph Matthesius, Jessica (John) Stempfley, Allyson (Matthew) Ubelacher, Matthew Colello, Eliese Potocek, and Samantha Potocek; and cherished great-granddaughter, Lily Stempfley. She is further survived by her sister, Marsie Struck, of Des Plaines, IL.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Matthesius.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 12:00pm until 5:00pm at Phyllis's residence, 1148 Gerry Street, Woodstock, IL 60098.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1801 S. Meyers Road Ste. 100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, or any public library.
