Robert Joseph Fish, age 77, of Swansea IL, formally of McHenry, IL passed away peacefully on April 25, 2021 Belleville, IL.
He was born on December 9, 1943 in Wisconsin, the son of Elgin and Laverna Fish.
He married Joyce Moore on August 31, 1963.
Robert has been serving the church from custodial work to a Sunday School teacher to a Deacon. He has delivered more than 100 Chalk Talks Sermons in several churches around Illinois. Robert was involved in electronics for most of his life while working at a small company named Scan-Am where he installed and maintained security systems, communication networks and more. Robert had a stroke in 2001 which he recovered from and allowed him to continue to care for his loved ones. He became an author of a book that journaled his journey to recovery. In his free time Robert enjoyed fishing, grilling, woodworking, hiking, gardening, but foremost he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Loreen and William Fish; his grandchildren: Tiffany, Brittany, Kyle, William II, Tyler and Meilani Fish as well as his 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce; his brother David; sister LaVonne; son Gene; and grandson Aaron.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4pm to 7pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry IL. Funeral Service will follow the funeral home chapel at 5:30pm. Interment will be private.
Due to current CDC Covid 19 mandates only 50 people will be allowed within the funeral home facilities at a single time and all attendees must wear a mask while on funeral home premises. We welcome everyone who would like to attend but ask that you make your visit brief in order to allow for everyone in attendance to be able to have an opportunity to show their support for the family.
