Rosalyn M. (Gursky) Sullivan, 86, of Wonder Lake, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

Rosalyn was born on August 9, 1929, in Crystal Falls, MI, to Melvina (Arcand) and Thomas Gursky. In her youth, she spent much of her time figure skating on the frozen lakes of the Upper Peninsula. She enjoyed spending her time between her home in Alpha MI., and neighboring Crystal Falls. Her preferred method of travel was her beloved roller skates.

Married on June 25, 1949, to Charles E. Sullivan of Chicago, the couple moved to Wonder Lake in 1954, where they raised their daughter, Christine. Roz (or Rosie) was a devoted wife, loving mother, (great) grandmother, and proud homemaker. She dedicated her life to making sure that her family always knew they were loved and cared for. Her unwavering faith was an inspiration to those that knew and loved her. Her uncanny wit and humor always brought a smile to those around her. Although she was normally quiet and reserved, Roz could be found "gently encouraging" her Chicago Bears on Sundays during football season. In the offseason she was a dedicated birdwatcher, animated about current events, and loved to pamper her pets.

In addition to her parents, Rosalyn was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; and her brothers Glen, Donald, and Elroy Gursky.

Rosalyn is survived by her daughter, Christine Sullivan of Silver Lake, WI; grandson, Ray (Kim) Niehaus; great-grandson, Kevin Niehaus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 25, from 5:00 to 8:00 at Justen's Wonder Lake Funeral Home, 7611 Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until closing prayers at 10:15 a.m., then leaving for the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in McHenry. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery.
