Born: August 23, 1924; in Northbrook, IL

Died: March 15, 2017; in Crystal Lake, IL

Rose Mary Weingart, age 92, of McHenry, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Crystal Lake, IL.

She was born August 23, 1924, the daughter of William F. and Pauline B. (Happ) Selzer, and grew up in Crystal Lake. On October 5, 1946 she married the love of her life, Donald P. Weingart, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Crystal Lake, and they had recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. While she had a life-long interest in cooking, baking, sewing and the occasional debate, in her earlier years she devotedly attended her grandchildren's many sporting events, and enjoyed her exercise group, dominoes, card clubs and vacations to Sayner, WI with her family and friends.

Family was not only her priority, but her passion in life. Rose loved family gatherings that included spending time with her three children, seven grandchildren and her adored great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; and their children, Alan (Mary) Weingart of Excelsior, MN, Karen (the late David) Diedrich of McHenry and Jane (Brad) Hertel of McHenry. Surviving grandchildren include Andrew (Katelynn) Weingart, Nathan Weingart, Sarah (James) Frank, Todd (Caitlin) Diedrich, Kathleen Diedrich, Emily (Brad) Voss and Erik Hertel; along with her great-grandchild, Blake Diedrich.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Norie, Richard, Francis, Edward, Eleanor Aufderheide, Loretta Anderson and Angeline Raycraft; along with her son-in-law, David S. Diedrich.

Dear Don and Family,
I looked up at the beautiful full moon a couple days ago and told my parents, Darrell and Dorothy, to get the welcome committee ready with drinks in hand to greet their dear, wonderful friend Rose. I know they are all laughing while remembering all the great stories during their years of friendship. Love you, till we meet again!

Dear Family,

We were so sorry to hear of Rosemary's passing. The world has lost a tender, good soul. We will always remember her with fondness and have no doubt that she is now filled with unending peace and in the presence of God. Rosemary was a special person and certainly set a high bar as an example of a life well lived.

The hardest part of healing after you've lost someone you love, is recover the you that went away with them. We pray God's healing touch will bring you and your family comfort and that you will be able to celebrate the goodness she brought to this life.
Our deepest sympathy and love, Pat & Russ
